Jan 02, 2017 · After applying the latest drivers and firmware up date to my Surface Pro 3, the SD card reader has now gone! I have re-installed the Surface pro 3 image and it is still missing. No matter what SD card I insert, the driver does not show. USB port works great and the SD cards will work fine in a SD reader plugged into the USB port - just not in the SD card reader slot.

The Samsung Evo Pro I have benchmarked at 90MB/s read and 80MB/s write. The non-Pro is more like 45MB/s read and 20MB/s write. If you need the faster speeds, the Pro is worth it. I paid $85 for the 128GB non-pro and $45 for the 64GB Pro, so pricing is pretty much on par. It comes down to what convenience is worth to you on one card.
